Feedback from families
Physics had become the subject my daughter dreaded. Within a term she was the one explaining the questions to me. The change was in her confidence as much as her marks.
We came for Year 8 maths because of one bad report. What we actually got was someone who found the gaps from Year 6 that nobody had spotted and quietly fixed them.
Moles finally make sense. I went from guessing at the calculation questions to knowing exactly which one to use. My mock went up two grades.
My son could do the theory but froze at the programming. Being made to actually write the algorithms, week after week, was what turned it around.
What we valued most was the honesty. We were told plainly which topics were still weak and what to do about them, rather than being told everything was fine.
Collecting feedback
How testimonials are gathered
Feedback is requested at the end of a term of tuition, in writing, and published only with explicit permission from the parent or carer. Students under 18 are never quoted without a parent agreeing to it first.
Quotes are published as written, with nothing added. Where a family prefers not to be identified, only the year group and subject are shown - which is why most attributions on this page take that form.
Grade improvements are only ever stated where there is a real before-and-after to point to, such as a school mock result followed by a final grade.
