Terms of Service

The terms that apply to tuition booked with tutreo and to your use of this website. Last updated 19 September 2026.

This is a draft. The commercial terms below — notice periods, the cancellation window, the invoicing cycle — are proposals rather than agreed policy. Confirm each one and have the whole document reviewed before the site goes live.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are between tutreo (“we”, “us”) and the parent, carer or adult student who books tuition (“you”). Where the student is under 18, the contract is with the parent or carer, not the student.

2. Booking a place

An enquiry is not a booking. A place is confirmed only once we have agreed a day, time and rate with you in writing, by email. Places are offered subject to availability and to whether the subject and level are ones we can genuinely teach well.

3. Sessions

  • One-to-one sessions run for 60 minutes; group sessions run for 90 minutes.
  • Sessions run weekly during term time unless something else is agreed. We follow the Buckinghamshire school calendar by default.
  • If a student arrives late, the session still ends at the scheduled time. If we start late, the time is made up.
  • In-person sessions take place at the agreed address. Online sessions require a working camera, microphone and a reliable connection at your end.

4. Cancellations and missed sessions

  • Cancel more than 24 hours before a session and it is not charged.
  • Cancel within 24 hours, or do not attend, and the session is charged in full. The slot can rarely be filled at short notice.
  • Illness and genuine family emergencies are treated sensibly and in good faith. Tell us as early as you can.
  • If we cancel a session, it is rescheduled at no cost, or the fee is waived if no suitable alternative time can be found.

5. Fees and payment

Rates are quoted in writing before any booking is confirmed and are held for the duration of the agreed term. Invoices are issued monthly in arrears by email for the sessions that actually took place, and are payable by bank transfer within seven days.

There is no joining fee, no registration charge and no minimum term. If a rate is going to change, you will be given at least one month’s notice before it takes effect.

6. Ending the arrangement

You may stop at any time by telling us in writing. We ask for one week’s notice so the slot can be offered to another family. We may end the arrangement where fees remain unpaid, where the behaviour of a student or adult makes teaching unworkable, or where we conclude in good faith that tuition is no longer benefiting the student.

7. Safeguarding

We hold a current enhanced DBS certificate and follow statutory safeguarding guidance. Parents and carers may observe any session at any time. Where we have a safeguarding concern we may be obliged to share information with the student’s school, the local authority or the police, and we will do so.

8. Teaching materials

Worksheets, notes and other materials we produce remain our intellectual property. You may use them freely for the student’s own study. You may not republish, sell or distribute them, including to other students or tutors.

Past papers and mark schemes remain the property of the relevant exam board and are used in line with the board’s own terms.

9. What we do and do not promise

We will teach with skill and care, prepare properly for every session, and be honest with you about progress. We cannot guarantee a particular grade or outcome. Results depend on the work a student does between sessions, on their school, and on the exams themselves — none of which is within our control.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with tuition is limited to the fees you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

11. Use of this website

You may use this website for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not attempt to disrupt it, submit false information through the enquiry form, or use it to send unlawful or abusive content.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to tutreo.info@gmail.com or raised on .
